The Texas Tropical Trail hosts a monthly Partner Event & Business Meeting in one of the 20 counties it represents. The Partner Events are open to the public and feature the host community.

Some of these Monthly Partner Events are still being planned.  If you would like to host a partner event/business meeting in your community, please contact Nancy Deviney at nancydeviney@yahoo.com.

May - December - Texas Tropical Trail Region


May 18 – Portland (San Patricio County) – Our host will be the Portland Chamber of Commerce. Educational presentations will include:

Larry Jacoway, local historian and author from Portland, will tell us about “The History of Portland & Bay View College”
- Jim Moloney, local historian and author from Corpus Christi, will review his recent book, “1919 – The Storm”, a narrative and photographic history of the 1919 Hurricane in Corpus Christi
- Valerie Bates, Port Isabel photographer, City of Port Isabel Marketing Director and Texas Tropical Trail Region Vice Chair, will present to us a photographic account of the aftermath of the collapse of the Queen Isabella Causeway connecting South Padre Island and Port Isabel – “Bringing Communities Together When the Bridge is Gone: The Story of the Queen Isabella Causeway Collapse”.

June 15 – South Padre Island/Port Isabel (Cameron County)

July 20 – Corpus Christi (Nueces County) – Our host will be the Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History. An educational program will be presented by:

- Rick Stryker, Director of the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History,
Chairman of the Texas Tropical Trail Region and member of the Nueces County Historical Commission, will speak to us about “The History of Corpus Christi”.

August 17 – Mercedes (Hidalgo County) – hosted by the Mercedes Chamber of Commerce

September 21 –

October 19 – (Strategic Planning Session & Board Retreat) -

November 16 – Zapata (Zapata County) – Our host will be the new Zapata County Museum of History – Educational programs will include a tour of the new museum.

December 14 – Kingsville (Kleberg County) -
