Lilia DeRousie hails from Monterrey, Mexico, and has resided in the US for over 30 years. A proud naturalized American citizen, she has hung her hat in the Rio Grande Valley for nearly 20 years. Before moving to the tropical tip of Texas, she lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she was also involved in the tourism and hospitality industry.
Better known by her friends as “Lili,” Lilia brings spunk, energy, and over 20 years of experience in tourism to her position as the International Tourism Coordinator for the South Padre Island Convention and Visitors Bureau. She is an active member of the Travel Industry Association, the Texas Travel Industry Association, the National Tour Association, the Destination Marketing Association International, the Association Mexicana de Agentes de Viaje, the Border Trade Alliance, the Texas Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus, ASTA, Rio Grande Valley Partnership, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Discover America Canada. She also enjoys volunteering regularly in local projects and community events.
Lili is the proud mother of two children and currently lives with Keanu Reeves, her cat. |
